At Canine Scanning, we understand that whelping puppies is often one of the most stressful experiences for dogs and their owners. There are countless things that can go wrong when whelping a litter of puppies, which is why an expert pair of helping hands can be a source of reassurance.

Canine Scanning has more than 30 years’ experience of helping owners and their dogs to successfully whelp litters of happy and healthy puppies. We’ve overseen thousands of successful births in the process. We offer hands-on dog delivery assistance to ensure the best possible outcome.

For first-time breeders in particular, whelping a litter of puppies can be a daunting experience. Canine Scanning’s expert team offers a 24-hour rapid response (callout fees apply) to guide you through every step of the process. We can do this at our Liverpool premises or as part of our mobile service, which allows us to monitor the whelping process from the comfort of your own home.

Either way it’s essential during any dog delivery that the mother and her pups are calm before, during and after the whelping process. Agitated females can become a danger to their pups if they are stressed or anxious. This is where Canine Scanning’s experienced canine experts are able to keep things running smoothly.

At Canine Scanning, we work with many different types and breeds of dogs on a daily basis. That means that we can pick up any issues or complications early and advise on the best course of action. If your bitch is struggling in any way, our first course of action will be to recommend veterinary assistance for the health and safety of your dogs and her litter.

After a successful whelping process we can also help with feeding. Occasionally, there might be complications that prevent the whole litter from feeding properly. For example, the bitch might not be able to produce enough milk. In those cases, Canine Scanning’s experts can offer effective solutions to ensure the health and wellbeing of the mother and pups.

We offer a number of options for our Whelping Assistance service and offer a mobile service which means we can come to you (within 10 mile radius of our offices)

• The standard package costs £250 and will include the whelping service only.
• Whelping Assistance plus before and aftercare for £350*
  Includes 1 week of care before due-date, actual whelping service and up to 8hrs aftercare for the mother and pups.
  * Larger breed extra £100
• Full Whelping Assistance plus an extended period of before and after care for £700.
  Total of 5 weeks care – includes care for 1 week before due date, whelping service and 4 weeks aftercare for mother and pups.
